Company Description

Eagle Broadband wanted to keep people talking (and entertained) with a number of broadband, data, and satellite communications services. Its bundled broadband service enabled service providers, cities, real estate developers, and others to offer IP-based digital services such as high-speed Internet, voice, and video. It video service was offered in partnership with satellite operator GlobeCast. Eagle Broadband also sold IP set-top boxes (MediaPro) used in the hospitality industry to enable in-room video entertainment. Ongoing losses led the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2007. It subsequently began to sell its remaining assets, but the bankruptcy status was converted to Chapter 7 in 2009.
