E.ON Ruhrgas is riding on a 7,000-mile-long pipeline system across Europe. The company supplies natural gas to gas merchant companies, distributors, and industrial users in Germany and seven other nations. Germany's largest gas supplier, it also has interests in gas companies in other countries. It imports more than half of its gas from Russia and Norway; much of the rest comes from the Netherlands.
