The company also operates as a competitive local-exchange carrier (CLEC) in Gonzales, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, the Houma/Thibodaux area, and in New Orleans. EATEL offers local voice access, long-distance, Internet access and services, fiber-to-the-home, and paging to more than 30,000 customers. It also provides directory services through its subsidiary, The SunShine Pages, and operates a construction division. The Scanlan family controls the company, which it founded in 1935.
