Company Description
In the long term, independent oil and gas company Dragon Oil hopes to be dragging steady profits out of its oil production. Dragon Oil's major oil and gas assets are located in the Cheleken Contract Area in the Caspian Sea, offshore Turkmenistan, where it produces about 41,000 barrels of oil per day. The company reports recoverable proved and probable reserves of 645 million barrels of oil and condensate in the Cheleken area. Dragon Oil has estimated proved and probable natural gas reserves of 3.2 trillion cu. ft. The company is a subsidiary of the Emirates National Oil Company. It owns a 52% stake in Dragon Oil, but in 2009 bid to acquire 100%. Shareholders rebuffed the offer.
