Domtar offers more than a package deal as a top North American fine paper maker. Most of the company's sales come from its paper segment, which churns out a variety of communication and specialty papers, including offset printing paper, photocopying paper, fine paper, and technical papers. Its top product, freesheet paper (both coated and uncoated), is used for business, commercial printing and publication, as well as technical and specialty applications. In 2007 Domtar merged with the fine paper business of Weyerhaeuser in a $3.3 billion transaction.
