Company Description

Domestic & General Group (D&G) provides warranties on household appliances and provides direct mail and call center services for its manufacturing clients. The firm boasts coverage of some 7.5 million appliances from more than 100 companies, processes more than 1.5 million claims per year, and handles in excess of 11 million telephone calls annually. It sold its pet health insurance business to a Canadian firm in 2008. D&G is active mainly in the UK and Ireland, but has an eye on expanding internationally, where it has operations in about a dozen other countries in Western Europe, as well as Australia. Private equity firm Advent International acquired D&G in 2007.
