The company offers blood banking through subsidiary Scientific Medical Systems and operates sperm banks through its Idant division. Its main business, however, has been the development and commercialization of a blood volume analyzer, the BVA-100, which hospitals and other health care providers use to diagnose and treat heart and kidney failure, anemia, and other conditions, as well as to manage blood transfusions. The BVA-100 measures a patient's blood volume within 90 minutes.
