Company Description
Swarovski's crystal crunching nature has nothing to do with a new-agey belief system. Part of the Swarovski Group, D. Swarovski & Co. is a global leader in the production of cut crystal, genuine gemstones, and created stones for use in jewelry and accessories, and decorative glass objects (including, yes, those crystal animals that adorn collectors shelves). Its objects d'art and jewelry account for about three-quarters of group sales and are sold through about 1,080 Swarovski boutiques and concessions and some 890 partner-owned shops in more than 120 countries. Founded in Austria in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski, who invented a revolutionary precision-cutting technique, Swarovski is still family owned and run.
