DB Schenker Rail Italia helps arrange the transportation of freight by rail in Europe. The company is part of the Germany-based DB Mobility Logistics unit of rail giant Deutsche Bahn), and it uses the Deutsche Bahn network and other state railway systems to move its customers' freight in the "Benelux countries" (Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxemburg), Germany, Italy, and Scandinavia. The company's base in Northern Italy allows it to serve industrial hubs such as Genoa, Milan, and Turin. In 2010 DB Schenker Rail Italia became majority owner of rival Italian rail company, NordCargo. The two companies eventually will be combined under the NordCargo brand.
