Company Description
At one time, hardy Cypriots traveled from their island home in triremes, but now all they have to do is book a flight on Cyprus Airways. Operating a fleet of 11 Airbus jets, the government-owned carrier flies to 31 destinations in Europe and the Middle East. After four years of losses, the airline underwent a restructuring plan in 2006 that cut jobs, wages, and operations, but it successfully posted a profit in 2007. Cyprus Airways is 70% owned by the government of Cyprus and 30% owned by private investors. The airline is listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange.
