The primary operating subsidiary of Leap Wireless, the company provides local mobile voice an data service to more than 5 million customers in 35 US states. Its service is used largely by budget-conscious youth and minority callers who do most of their calling from within the company's network. Cricket's core products are flat-rate monthly plans for unlimited calling. It resells phones from manufacturers including Research in Motion, Samsung and Kyocera. The company sells directly through its retail stores and kiosks, and through Internet resellers and such retailers as Best Buy and Target.
