Company Description
Formed in 1877, Crewe Alexandra FC takes its name from the town and Princess Alexandra. The English football (soccer) squad turned professional in 1893. The team was promoted to the First Division (now known as the Football League Championship) for the first time in its history in 1997. Crewe Alexandra FC is known as the Alex or the Railwaymen, for the town's connection with the railroad industry. Dario Gradi was the team's manager from June 1983 to July 2007, when he stepped down to become Technical Director.
