This organization is made possible by a grant from the federal government and by support from viewers like you. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) is a private, not-for-profit corporation created by the federal government that receives appropriations from Congress to help fund programming for more than 1,000 locally-owned public TV and radio stations. CPB-funded programs are distributed by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), National Public Radio (NPR), and Public Radio International (PRI).
