Core-Mark Holding Company is the phoenix of smokes and snacks distributors. It's the sole entity to emerge from the ashes of the Fleming Companies' 2003 bankruptcy. From about 25 distribution facilities, Core-Mark distributes packaged consumables (including cigarettes, tobacco, candy, snacks, grocery items, perishables, nonalcoholic beverages, and health and beauty aids) to 24,000 convenience retailers, mass merchandisers, and drug, liquor, and specialty stores. Cigarettes account for more than two-thirds of sales. Core-Mark's largest customers include Couche-Tard and Valero; each has a dedicated distribution facility.
