Company Description

Cookson is a captain of the materials industry. The 300-year-old company, which began as a provider of lead for paint, has grown into a leading supplier of ceramic and electronics materials. The Ceramics Division's Vesuvius and Foseco brand subsidiaries make refractory ceramics and related products used during the production of steel, glass, iron, and other products. Cookson's Electronics Division produces chemicals and equipment used to manufacture printed circuit boards and build integrated circuits. To a lesser extent, the company also makes jewelry from gold, platinum, and silver through its Precious Metals Division. Cookson operates in 35 countries and distributes its products in more than 100 countries.
