When their tiny tykes needs some TLC, Nutmeg Staters turn to Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC). CCMC's centerpiece is its children's hospital that cares for children from babyhood to adulthood with a variety of services including surgery, behavioral care, and emergency medicine. The critical care department houses a Level I Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that receives referral patients from more than 30 hospitals throughout the region. The center also conducts clinical research and provides pediatric training to health professionals. CCMC is home to more than 10 outpatient facilities throughout Connecticut and a 120-student school for children with physical and behavioral challenges.
