Community Hospitals of Indiana (also known as Community Health Network) now has Indianapolis surrounded on all sides. The health care system includes five acute care hospitals, all but one operating under the Community Hospital moniker. One, Community Hospital Anderson, is located outside the state capital. It also runs The Indiana Heart Hospital, where Hoosiers can go to keep their tickers ticking. Community Health Network, whose origin reaches back to the 1950s, has a total of 920 staffed beds. The network also includes more than 90 community care sites, including physician practices, community clinics, surgery centers, occupational health facilities, a rehabilitation center, and home health practices.
