The 250-bed acute care hospital serves Florida's Palm Beach County, just up the coast from Miami. It is also a teaching hospital affiliated with Nova Southeastern University. Columbia serves the community by offering free physician lectures, health fairs, and screenings to local groups throughout the year. The Pavilion, the hospital's onsite psychiatric facility, has nearly 90 beds and is the largest such facility in the county. Columbia, which is part of hospital giant HCA, was founded in 1975.
