Colavita USA is a leading importer and distributor of Italian foods, notably olive oil, pastas, sauces, and vinegars sold under the Colavita label. It supplies products to retail grocery store chains, specialty food stores, and wholesale distributors, as well as restaurants, caterers, and other foodservice operators. The company was started by John J. Profaci, who struck a distribution agreement with Italy's Colavita family in 1978. Rome-based Colavita S.p.A owns 80% of the US importer.
