It also manages about 100 separate account portfolios for institutional investors and offers alternative investments such as hedged real estate securities portfolios. In 2009 the company sold its real estate investment banking practice, Cohen & Steers Capital Advisors (now CSCA Capital Advisors), to former managing directors of the unit. Cohen & Steers has more than $44 billion of assets under management.
