Coeur d'Alene Mines gets to the heart of the matter when it comes to precious metals. A leading primary silver producer, the company holds interests in silver and gold properties in Africa, Australia, North America, and South America. It produces about 17 million ounces of silver and 170,000 ounces of gold annually. Coeur d'Alene has proved and probable reserves of about 270 million ounces of silver and 3 million ounces of gold. Coeur d'Alene produces most of its revenue from the San Bartolomé mine in Bolivia and Palmarejo mine in Mexico. Sales of silver account for about three-fourths of the company's revenue. Most of the minerals are sold to bullion-trading banks and to smelters.
