The company operates more than 50,000 slot machines worldwide; more than 130 bingo halls in Argentina, Colombia, Italy, Mexico, and Spain; a horse-racing track in Uruguay; and about 100 off-track betting sites in Brazil, Mexico, and Uruguay. Codere was founded in 1980 by the Martinez Sampedro family and the Franco brothers -- owners of slot machine manufacturer Recreativos Francos.
