Company Description

Just like Aldous Huxley and Jim Morrison, Clopay knows something about doors. Subsidiary Clopay Building Products makes residential and commercial garage doors for the remodel and new-build markets. Brands include Avante, Canyon Ridge, Reserve, and Coachman, and its products are distributed nationwide by independent contractors, home improvement stores, and wholesalers. The Home Depot and Menard are among its largest customers. Another subsidiary, Clopay Plastic Products, makes specialty plastic films for hygienic, medical, and industrial applications. (Procter & Gamble uses the film for its disposable diapers.) Clopay Corp. is owned by holding company Griffon, which also owns Telephonics and Ames True Temper.
