Company Description
Citizens South Banking Corporation is a holding company that owns Citizens South Bank, which has more than 20 branches in North Carolina and Georgia. The bank offers standard deposit products, such as checking, savings, and money market accounts; CDs; and IRAs. It also issues credit cards, provides retirement planning, and writes business and consumer loans (primarily real estate loans). Its Citizens South Financial Services subsidiary (dba Citizens South Investment Services) sells financial products. Two acquisitions of failed banks helped Citizens South move into the Georgia market. It first bought Bank of Hiawassee in 2010. The following year Citizens South acquired New Horizons Bank.
