Company Description
Cinemaxx brings the magic of movies to Germans. A leading operator of multiplex theaters in Germany, Cinemaxx owns about 45 theaters with a total of more than 300 screens throughout that country. The company once owned a stake in its former archrival, the Ufa Theater chain, and had taken over running Ufa's theater complexes. However, steady losses and a spate of overbuilding in German cinema dimmed the footlights on those plans; the financially troubled Cinemaxx withdrew from all foreign operations and pulled out of the merger with Ufa that would have created Germany's largest theater operator.
