The firm makes, markets, and distributes clothes -- plain white T-shirts, underwear, jeans, jackets, loungewear, and other casual apparel -- for men, women, and children. Hering's clothes are sold in more than 150 franchised stores in South America; the company also owns about 25 stores and sells its clothes online. The company's primary operating unit, Hering Textil, was formed in 1880 when two German immigrant brothers began making knit garments. It has produced garments under brand names the likes of dzarm, Hering, and Disney, as well as other licensed brands.
