Christopher & Banks is getting pretty big for its britches. Largely mall-based, the specialty retailer sells moderately priced private-label women's fashions. Some 795 stores nationwide operate under the Christopher & Banks and C.J. Banks banners. The Christopher & Banks and C.J. Banks brands also operate their own e-commerce sites. Sportswear accounts for about 80% of overall sales; the rest comes from sweaters and accessories. Christopher & Banks is betting big on expansion -- especially in the plus-size market. Its 260-plus C.J. Banks stores offer specialty apparel in sizes 14W and up. The two chains cater to working women 40 to 60 years old with above average incomes.
