China Integrated Energy takes a three-pronged approach to profits. The energy company is a petroleum distributor, a biodiesel producer, and a retail gas station operator. Its petroleum distribution business, one of the first private efforts of its type in China, delivers about 279,000 tons of gasoline, diesel, and heavy fuel oil per year to 14 provinces. China Integrated Energy's largest customer, China Petroleum & Chemical, accounts for about a quarter of sales. The company's biodiesel operations include two plants turning out about 150,000 tons annually from used vegetable oil and plant waste. Its retail network includes about a dozen gas stations in Shaanxi province, the center of company operations.
