Company Description
China Hydroelectric wants to become the largest little spark in the Chinese hydropower market. Led by an international management team, the holding company, formerly known as Binglangjiang, acquires, develops, and operates small hydropower plants located primarily in China. It's portfolio includes about a dozen such plants in several provinces, including Zhejiang, Fujian, Yunnan, and Sichuan. China Hydroelectric has a total generating capacity of almost 400 MW and draws its revenues primarily from providing electricity -- typically each of its plants has a single customer. Going public in early 2010, major investors include Vicis Capital Master Fund and CPI Ballpark Investments.
