Company Description
China Digital TV Holding (CDTV) provides television viewers with access to premium content on one condition: they pay up. Through operating subsidiaries N-S Digital TV and Super TV, the company provides conditional access (CA) systems used by almost 250 digital TV network operators in China. Subscribers insert CDTV's smart cards into their set-top boxes to control both the set-top boxes and network operators' transmissions. Users can access video on demand, parental controls, digital video recordings, and other services, and network operators can block unauthorized access. The company also sells a small number of set-top boxes and licenses its set-top box design to manufacturers. CDTV was founded in 2004.
