In a country that has one car for every three drivers, China Auto Rental (CAR) has the market cornered. CAR is China's largest car rental company, with a fleet of 26,000 vehicles and a network of 520 offices (many are open 24/7) across more than 65 cities and at more than 50 airports. Its general fleet is made up of vehicles by GM, Hyundai, Kia, and Peugeot/Citroën, but CAR also leases luxury vehicles by Audi and BMW. The company also sells its used cars directly to the public. In addition, CAR partners with Alamo Rent A Car to provide Chinese-language reservation services for car rentals in North America. CAR filed a $300 million initial public offering in early 2012.
