Company Description
Steel is important to China's growth and iron ore is important to steel. That's where China Armco Metals comes in. The company imports ores for sale to steel mills and other heavy industry. Its iron, copper, chrome, and nickel ore, as well as coal, come from South America and Asia. Armco's largest customers include Lianyungang Jiaxin Resources Import & Export, Sundial Metals and Minerals, and China-Base Ningbo Foreign Trade, together about two-thirds of sales. The company also imports and recycles scrap metal, a cheaper replacement for iron ore in steel production. Armco was incorporated in 2001 in China as Armco & Metawise; it went public in 2008 through a reverse merger with US firm Cox Distributing.
