The freestanding hospital has about 190 beds and a staff of some 700 medical professionals with 30 medical specialties. Its services include orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and cardiology, as well as surgery, trauma, neonatal, and intensive care. Additionally, the hospital operates several satellite outpatient clinics providing general and specialized care. Children's Hospital Oakland, which was founded in 1914, also conducts teaching and community outreach programs.
