You might say this is a central hub for cherry pickers' crops. Cherry Central Cooperative is a fruit marketing co-operative comprised of more than a dozen member cooperatives representing hundreds of growers in Michigan, New York, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin. It processes cherries, cranberries, apples and other fruit products, including the Indian Summer and Wilderness brands of apple and cherry juices and ciders. Its Oceana Foods unit makes dried fruit sold under the Traverse Bay label, while its Dunkley International subsidiary makes fruit-processing equipment. Cherry Central's products are sold to retail, foodservice, and ingredient customers. The cooperative was formed in 1973.
