Charter Communications is a cable television system operator with about 5 million residential and commercial subscribers in 27 US states, making it one of the top cable companies, behind Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Cox Communications. Not just a leading cable TV player, Charter offers broadband Internet to 3 million customers and computer telephony services to another 1 million user. The company also derives a portion of its revenue from the sale of local advertising on such cable networks as MTV and CNN.
