Charlotte Motor Speedway (doing business as Lowe's Motor Speedway) operates a 1,300-acre racing facility home to a 1.5-mile auto racetrack that seats more than 160,000 spectators near Charlotte, North Carolina. It also hosts NASCAR sanctioned events, including the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series). The facility's other tracks and garages host monster truck rallies, demolition derbies, short-track races, World Karting Association races, and car shows. Owned by Speedway Motorsports, the track was built in 1960 by company chairman and CEO O. Bruton Smith.
