Cerro Grande Mining Corporation (fomerly South American Gold and Copper Company) explores for gold and copper -- among other industrial minerals -- on properties in South America. The company's primary asset is the Pimenton gold mine in Chile, which started production in 2004. In addition, the company holds interests in several limestone deposits in Chile and the company is exploring a copper deposit adjacent to the Pimenton gold mine. Cerro Grande had investigated the viability of a gold prospect in Peru, but in 2010 was focusing on its operations in Chile. South American Gold and Copper changed its name to Cerro Grande Mining in 2011.
