Cermaq ASAOslo Norway
Company Description
Here, fishie, fishie, fishie ... no rod and reel needed. Cermaq knows it's easier to sprinkle feed in the water and net the salmon as they swim up for the goodies. Its EWOS unit is a global supplier of fish feed for farmed salmon and trout, while its Mainstream Group operates salmon and trout farms. Both units operate in Canada, Chile, and Norway. EWOS also operates in the UK; the Mainstream Group has additional operations in Scotland. Cermaq also owns a majority of grain-trading firm Norgrain and minority shares in a fish byproducts firm and a biodiesel business, all in Norway. In 2010 Cermaq bought about a 40% stake in Marine Farms but later sold them to Morpol; it's entering Vietnam through a joint venture.
