Company Description
There's no quota for COTA, but the more bus passengers, the better for the Central Ohio Transit Authority. With a fleet of about 280 buses, COTA provides bus transportation throughout Franklin County and parts of Delaware, Fairfield, and Licking counties on some 65 routes with 4,300 bus stops. COTA received about $14 million in federal stimulus money to repair facilities and replace older buses. One project that didn't receive funding was COTA's proposed light rail line to run from Columbus to Ohio State University. The agency also provides service for people with disabilities through Project Mainstream. COTA was created by local county and municipal governments and began operations in 1974.
