Company Description

Central Energy Partners, (formerly known as Rio Vista Energy Partners) has moved from the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industry to the more traditional one of oil and gas exploration. The company was formed in 2003 to hold the LPG distribution, transportation, and marketing assets owned by its former parent Penn Octane. It sold those assets (primarily a terminal facility in Brownsville, Texas, and related properties) to TransMontaigne in 2006. In 2007 Rio Vista acquired Regional Enterprises, Inc. and a number of oil and natural gas producing properties in Oklahoma, but sold Regional Enterprises in 2009. In 2010 Penn Octane sold the debt-laden company to Central Energy, LLC for $3.8 million.
