Celsis International sniffs out tainted products before they can reach consumers. The company's Celsis Rapid Detection division makes testing reagents and monitoring systems used to detect and measure microbial contamination in consumer products and food. Its AKuScreen and RapidScreen assays are used by makers of pharmaceuticals, personal care items, cleaning products, and beverages. The Celsis Analytical Services unit performs outsourced quality testing for the personal products, pharma, and chemicals industries. A third division, Celsis IVT, provides in vitro testing services for clinical drug trials. The company was founded in 1992 and was acquired by private equity firm JO Hambro in 2009.
