Formed through the 1997 union of several Boston-area health care organizations, CareGroup serves Massachusetts residents through its flagship facility, the 620-bed Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center , and three other hospital campuses. With about 1,000 beds total, the system provides a comprehensive range of general acute care as well as specialty care in a number of areas, such as orthopedics, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
