Company Description
Is your nuclear reactor running low on fuel? Cameco may be able to help. The company is one of the world's largest producers of uranium, with mines in Canada, Kazakhstan, and the US. It controls nearly 480 million pounds of proved and probable reserves and produces about 21 million pounds of uranium per year. It converts its ore to fuel-grade products used by nuclear power plants, including by Cameco's 32%-owned electricity generating company, Bruce Power. In Canada, Cameco mines the world's largest known deposit of high-grade uranium, McArthur River, and another site, Rabbit Lake. It is developing Cigar Lake, second in size only to McArthur River. Cameco has two operations in the US (in Wyoming and Nebraska).
