From its fertilizer manufacturing facility in Kansas, CVR Partners produces ammonia and urea ammonia nitrate (UAN). The company sells ammonia to agricultural and industrial customers such as Brandt Consolidated, Interchem and National Cooperative Refinery Association and provides UAN products to retailers and distributors. To lower production costs, CVR Partners uses petroleum coke instead of the more common -- and expensive -- raw material, natural gas.
