Company Description

CTS Valpey (formerly Valpey-Fisher) is all about time and control. The company makes quartz crystals and crystal-based products such as oscillators, used for timing and frequency control in telecom, computer, and aerospace equipment. It also makes ultrasonic transducers, which are used in non-destructive testing, research, and medical applications. Customers include contract electronics manufacturers Celestica and Flextronics. Valpey-Fisher has divested other operations, including its AcoustoSizer, optical components, and piezoelectric product lines. More than two-thirds of sales are to customers in the US. In 2012 the company was acquired by electronic component manufacturer CTS Corporation for about $18 million.
