Company Description
CREDO Petroleum believes strongly in fossil fuels: It explores for, produces, and markets natural gas and crude oil in the US Gulf Coast, Midcontinent, and Rocky Mountain regions. The company has traditionally concentrated on shallow and medium-depth properties (7,000-9,000 ft.), but in recent years it has launched projects in Kansas and South Texas (where it is drilling to well depths ranging from 10,000 to 17,000 ft.). In 2008 the company reported estimated proved reserves of 15.5 billion cu. ft. of gas and 710,000 barrels of oil. Subsidiary United Oil operates the company's properties in Oklahoma, and CREDO Petroleum's other subsidiary, SECO Energy, owns royalty interests in the Rocky Mountains.
