This link will open in a new window Just a few years ago, CPP International (formerly known as Carolina Pad & Paper Company) was badly lacking in flair. The maker of notepads, loose-leaf binders, arts and crafts and other paper and stationery products watched its sales dwindle and recognized its dire need for innovation. In a move designed to target 'tween girls (ages eight to 14 years old), CPP introduced notepad covers with bolder colors and whimsical designs (as well as significantly higher price points). The company also moved its manufacturing from the US to China. CPP was founded in 1945 when founder Joseph Hall began selling stationery out of the trunk of his car.
