Bet you didn’t know the Department of Commerce had a security component. It does – the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), which balances the requirements of open commerce with other nations and national security. It works to ensure economic, cyber, and homeland security through about a dozen offices including the Office of Antiboycott Compliance, the Office of Export Enforcement, the Office of Nonproliferation and Treaty Compliance, and the Office of International Programs.
