Company Description

Brit Insurance Holdings is no ordinary bloke's insurer. The company operates Brit Insurance Limited (BIL), a general insurance firm that carries about half of Brit Insurance's business, and Brit Syndicate Limited (BSL), a Lloyd's  syndicate manager that underwrites the balance of its policies. The company splits the businesses into three divisions: Brit UK underwrites UK commercial insurance and reinsurance, Brit Global Markets provides a range of insurance products for small to large businesses worldwide, and Brit Reinsurance offers international policies including property treaty and casualty treaty. Brit Insurance Holdings was taken private in 2011 by investors Apollo Management and CVC Capital Partners.
