Established in 1901, the Brighton & Hove Albion Seagulls compete in Football League One (after their relegation from the English League Championship following the 2005-2006 season). In the club's second season of play, the team moved into the Goldstone Ground stadium where it would play until 1995, when the board of directors controversially sold the the stadium before securing an alternative site to play. The Seagulls have worn the blue and white stripes synonymous with the team since 1904. Brighton & Hove Albion temporarily plays its home matches at the Withdean Stadium and is currently in the middle of a quest for a permanent stadium. To read the full description, subscribe now.

    Competition

Competitive Landscape for Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club Ltd.
Demand is driven by consumer income and corporate entertainment spending. The profitability of individual teams depends on achieving high fan attendance and a large TV audience, both of which are enhanced by effective marketing and competitive play. Teams in large metropolitan areas have advantages in the population base and TV audience they can draw on, though they may face competition from other teams. Teams in smaller markets, along with less popular sports and minor league teams, can compete by building fan loyalty through local marketing promotions and an appeal to civic pride. Average annual revenue per worker across all sports teams is over $325,000. To read the full description, subscribe now.
